Echos of a Case

In this investigative game, you take on the role of a special investigator revisiting the cold case of Camila Montez, who went missing in August 2022 after visiting her best friend not far away from her home.

Initially dismissed by the police as a runaway, the case gained traction only a month later when new evidence emerged. Despite this, no significant media coverage followed.

In March of the following year, Camila’s skeletal remains were discovered near the last known location of her phone. Beside her: a police officer’s service weapon, reported stolen on the day she vanished.

With the case unsolved and long forgotten, it's up to you to uncover the truth and bring justice to a case that was unjustly ignored.

This game is inspired by the real life case of Susana Morales, which has since been solved. While the events and characters in the game are fictionalized, the story draws from real-world issues surrounding a missing person and how some cases initially receive little attention.

The game is meant to raise awareness and encourage reflection. It is in no way intended to be disrespectful to the victim, her loved ones, or anyone affected by similar tragedies.

The game was created as a part of my bachelor's thesis at the Hochschule      Ansbach, which is about true crime and it's impact on videogames.
